I recently had the incredible opportunity to be a guest on the Hardship to Hope podcast with Tammy Kennington. We had a heartfelt conversation about something many of us experience but often don’t talk about enough — loneliness.
Loneliness can feel overwhelming, like an endless void of isolation. But what if we viewed it differently? What if we searched to discover how God might be able to use loneliness as a means to grow goodness in our lives?
In our conversation, Tammy and I explore:
- Discovering the Root Cause of Loneliness: Loneliness isn’t always about being physically alone. It can stem from hurtful wounds, unmet expectations, or even transitions in life.
- Escaping the Isolation: Building meaningful connections starts with acknowledging our loneliness and taking intentional steps toward vulnerability, friendship and healing.
- Helping a Friend Through Loneliness: Sometimes the best way to overcome our own loneliness is by showing up for someone else. Simple acts of kindness and understanding can create a ripple effect of healing.
- Thriving After a Lonely Season: Loneliness can refine us, revealing deeper truths about who we are and who God is. As we surrender our pain to Him, He transforms it into purpose.
Romans 8:28 reminds us that God works all things together for good. Even our loneliest seasons can become a testimony of His faithfulness, love and miracles.
If you or someone you know is navigating loneliness, I encourage you to listen to our conversation. There is hope, and you don’t have to walk through this season alone.

Let’s continue the conversation! Have you experienced loneliness? What helped you find connection and healing? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
Remember, even loneliness can lead to something beautiful when we include Jesus in the journey.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
Break free from loneliness. In fact, Jesus is with you already and present to help. Talk to Him today as a first step to overcoming loneliness.
